Okay here we go again, we finally got cleared with Google Business Places and now I tried to make things right with Facebook by verifying my business. I do these things so potential clients don’t feel duped by fake companies. So they have two types of verification. One by phone and the other by sending them specific documents.

I tried the phone version, I requested a phone call, it came in, I answered and pushed the proper touch tone key to verify it was me. The recording came back stating the verification failed. So on to the second method and I sent them my Government of Ontario Issued Master Business License. Well not the original but a photocopy of it.

Guess what! It was rejected. So here is the email trail:

Hi

The document provided is a Business License issued by the Province of Ontario. You have it listed as an accepted document

– Local business license (issued by your city, county or state)

Are you not familiar with how these documents look? There are many obstacles you have to clear in Ontario to get one.

Please advise how this is not accepted even though its listed as an accepted document.

Thanks

This is what I get in response:

Hi

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re telling me. Maybe you’re not reading my response:
One of your accepted documents is a scanned version of my business license. It clearly states you accept these documents.

What I have attached is the “Master Business License” issued by the government of Ontario!
If you don’t like this document and would rather have a phone bill that is easily obtainable, then let me know. But you should remove this option from accepted documents.

Please advise if a Canadian Government Issued document is not as good as my local phone bill!

I don’t know if they get a lot of fake companies, but I try and play by the rules and I get push back! Maybe if I forged the documents and sent it in that would be accepted.

Will keep you up to date!
