This is way off topic for us but recently I was wondering about bank accounts etc I may have had in the past that I’ve forgotten about. What happens is when an account goes dormant the agency that has that account can close it and transfer the amount to the Bank of Canada for holding. Any amount over $100.00 is held I believe for 100 years. Its an easy search and it’s free. You should not be paying any 3rd party website to do this for you. Just put in your name with the option of all provinces or just one and click search. Viola, lost money found. They have a procedure for claiming this money, but if its yours then it shouldn’t be hard for you to do. Good Luck!
